On Nov. 10th, the second payment of $280/person (for quad occupancy) is due to the travel agency.  In order for the school to make the payment on time, please turn your payment into the office by Nov. 3rd (one week ahead so that our payment will not be late).  Parents, remember if you were not planning to room 4 to a room (that's fine), the difference you will owe is not due until the final payment which is on Jan.10th.

9th grade DC trip information

Okay 9th graders and parents, I have finally gotten more detailed information about the Washington trip that we need to go over together.  Let's plan to meet at the school on Thursday night ( September 22) at 6:00, before the Bonfire.  We'll gather in the high school computer lab (old library) to talk about the itinerary, cost of the trip and payment schedule and who would be interested in going as a chaperone.  I have already seen some of you in passing around town and you have expressed an interest in going with us.  I believe that as of now we can take 13 parents if all of the kids plan to go which I hope that everyone gets this once in a lifetime opportunity.  I'll see you on Thursday night at 6:00 before the Bonfire and we'll make our plans!

DC trip info

This week I would like to get some feedback from the students and any parents interested in going to DC.  First, I have heard that White House security has become very strict and takes quite a long time to get through and we are only allowed to view approx 3 rooms.  With time being very precious, do we want to tour the White House or we can go to the White House Visitors Center and have our picture taken in front of the White House and have more time to go to other places?  Just a thought to think about, I don't want to dictate what we do but we could have more time to spend in other places.  Second, I am giving the kids a list of the places that we can tour and to choose their top 10.  I think we'll be able to go to most of these places anyway but if there seems to be a popular site, I want to make sure we go there (its their trip and I want it to be awesome).  As soon as I know how much room there is for parents I will let you know along with a set price.

announcements

Hello everybody!  I am glad to be back with my PLA family for junior history this year.  Blogging is a new "thing" for me but I will try my hardest to keep everyone updated on any tests or special assignments.  This week should be quiz and test free so stay tuned for details.

Attention 9th graders and parents:  I am also thrilled to tell you that I will be in charge of the trip to DC this year.  We have some really neat options to look at and I will try to have those available for you to look at and talk about.  As soon as I know how much room is available for chaperones I will be sure to let you know.  So stay tuned for updates, they will be coming soon.
